Woman seriously injured following crash near Castledooey, road remains closed - Highland Radio

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious traffic collision in Co Donegal on 10th April 2021. At approximately 8:30am Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single car traffic collision on the N14, on the Letterkenny to Lifford road, near Castledooey. The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman in her 30s, sustained serious injuries. She was taken from the scene by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital. The road at the scene of the collision is currently closed and traffic diversions are in place. The scene is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are particularly appealing to those with camera footage from along this route at the time of the collision, to make it available to them.

Further calls for responsibility for LUH car parking fees to change hands - Highland Radio

  There are further calls for the responsibility of car parking charges at Letterkenny University Hospital to lie with the Friends of the Hospital. It comes as figures show that the HSE collected almost 15 thousand euro in income from Letterkenny University car parking fees last year. The minimum fee for a space at the hospital is three euro. Local Cllr Ciaran Brogan who s also a member of the Regional Health Forum West says people would feel better paying the charges if they knew how the money was being spent:

HIQA to review gynaecology services at Letterkenny University Hospital - Highland Radio

  The Health Watchdog has confirmed that it’s to carry out a review of governance arrangements for gynaecology services at Letterkenny University Hospital. The review, which commences today, aims to ensure the HSE, Saolta University Health Care Group and the hospital are implementing recommendations of an external review into gynaecology service failures at the Hospital. In a statement, HIQA’s Head of Healthcare Sean Egan said that “It is essential that women accessing gynaecology services are assured that the service is safe and that they are being protected and safeguarded. This review will assess the effectiveness and sustainability of the governance and oversight arrangements to ensure that high-quality gynaecology services are provided at Letterkenny University Hospital.
