The 2014 Piper PA-46 crashed in the woods off of Moosehill Road in Leicester in Leicester at approximately 5 p.m., said a news release from Leicester police. Spencer emergency personnel and the Massachusetts Environmental police also responded to the crash.
Police said the crash site was quickly identified and responders were able to bring two passengers from the plane to waiting ambulances with the help of good Samaritans on snowmobiles. The third passenger was rescued from the woods on a stokes basket. A small dog was also rescued from the plane.

Authorities responding to a plane crash in Leicester on Tuesday said the three people on board sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. A small dog, also on board, was not injured.

Authorities are crediting good Samaritans on snowmobiles in helping them locate and rescue three people and a dog after a small plane crash Tuesday evening near Moosehill Road in Leicester.
Local police and fire responded to a report of an airplane crash in the woods off Moosehill Road around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Authorities said nearby residents with snowmobiles helped bring two of the passengers to waiting ambulances as the crash site wasn’t close to a roadway. A third passenger was taken out of the woods on a stokes basket, police said.
