WPS Health Centre gives details on COVID-19 vaccinations

One-shot at a time the Parry Sound community is becoming a safer and healthier place.
The West Parry Sound Health Centre released a statement Tuesday updating the community on its COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
WPSHC confirmed getting 912 doses of both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines over the last few weeks.
Of those, 474 shots were provided in late February that included both doses for Lakeland Long Term Care residents, and first doses for Lakeland staff, WPSHC staff working inside Lakeland, some alternate level of care patients, some high-risk staff, and residents of Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged.
Outbreak declared at Lakeland Long Term Care Home

The Lakeland Long Term Care (LTC) home declared a COVID-19 Outbreak Thursday morning.
This comes as the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit confirmed that one staff member at Lakeland LTC tested positive for COVID-19.
In accordance with the province’s health guidelines, that officially places the LTC home in outbreak status.
The staff member who tested positive is currently in isolation and high-risk contacts have been contacted by the Health Unit and are self-isolating.
In a release, Lakeland LTC confirmed that no residents are in isolation or have shown symptoms of COVID-19.
