One of the first oaths a doctor takes is to do no harm. It is instilled into every medical student and resident not to cause larger issues. Typically doctors have a basic plan when fighting various ailments and injuries, but COVID-19 was new and there was no time to study how it worked or what helped.
Local doctors jumped into action learning as much as possible, quickly learning new ways to help fight it. That information was ever-evolving and sometimes changing multiple times a day creating a daunting tasks for even the most seasoned physicians.
Texas to receive nearly 600,000 first doses

As Texasâ winter storm finally comes to an end, more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be distributed statewide for the week of Feb. 22. In Henderson County, providers, 10 providers will receive a total of 1,500 doses of the vaccine.
During Week 11 of Texasâ distribution plan, Brookshires Pharmacy in Athens, Mabank, Kemp, and Chandler will each receive 100 doses. In Athens, Renal Care Group, Family Circle of Care, UT Health East Texas, Christus Trinity Mother Frances and Lakeland, as well as Lakeland Medical Associates in Mabank, will each receive 200 doses.
In addition to the weekly allotments, the state is also ordering 364,830 second doses.
