Liaqat Khattak to field son for Nowshera nazim’s slot

NOWSHERA: Former provincial minister Liaqat Khattak on Saturday said that his political rivals would bite the dust as he would field his son for the slot of the tehsil nazim in the next local government election.
Addressing a gathering here, he said the ones, who did not see poverty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, should get his eyesight tested.
He apparently made the remark to take a swipe at his brother Pervez Khattak, who is Federal Minister for Defence, without mentioning his name.
Pervez Khattak recently told the National Assembly that there was no poverty and joblessness in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PESHAWAR: Three aides to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister resigned from their respective positions here on Saturday.
They included adviser on science and information technology Ziaullah Bangash, adviser on energy and power Himayatullah Khan and special assistant on excise and taxation Ghazi Ghazan Jamal, who cited ‘personal and unavoidable circumstances’ as reasons for quitting their offices.
The development comes on the heels of the induction of four new ministers, including former senior minister Mohammad Atif Khan, Shakeel Khan, Abdul Shakoor Khan and Faisal Amin Khan, who were sworn in on Monday.
A notification issued by the administration department said in exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of the KP Advisers and Special Assistants to Chief Minister (Appointment) Act 1989, the governor of the province had accepted the resignations of Himayatullah Khan, Ziaullah Khan Bangash and Ghazi Ghazan Jamal.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif may be named adviser to CM

NOWSHERA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet is likely to undergo changes in the near future, sources said.
The sources privy to the development told The News that a former senator from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, who has joined the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is likely to be named the adviser on information to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
It was learnt that the chief minister has consulted Prime Minister Imran Khan for giving this responsibility to Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif as he wants him to highlight the reforms being undertaken by the KP government in various sectors.

PESHAWAR: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) swept the Senate elections from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by winning 10 of the 12 seats of the Upper House of Parliament on Wednesday.
The PTI clinched five general seats, two of technocrats and women each and one of minorities from the province, while the opposition Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) and Awami National Party (ANP) claimed one general seat each.
However, the government’s ally, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), failed to secure any Senate seat.
