An alarming rise in local opioid overdoses has coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
“A lot has happened in the last year, and there is definitely the connection,” said Dr. Wajid Ahmed, the region’s Medical Officer of Health.
