COVID-19: Delhi Hospitals Get Fresh Supply Of Oxygen, but Stocks May Last For Only Two Days
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital received 14,000 cubic metres of oxygen, which is believed to last for only a day or two. At Ambedkar Nagar Hospital, officials say the fresh supply can last 24 hours.

New Delhi: A day after Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal flagged an acute shortage of oxygen supplies in the national capital, and the Delhi high court ordered the Centre to take urgent steps, the city’s biggest medical facilities received a late night refill on Tuesday, news reports said.

Some major government and private hospitals in Delhi received fresh stock of medical oxygen in the early hours of Wednesday, averting a crisis just in time, according to officials.
Gangaram Hospital received 5,000 cubic metres of oxygen supply from a private vendor before 3 am.
This stock should last till Wednesday afternoon. The supply from another oxygen firm is still awaited, sources said.
An official at the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital confirmed that a truck carrying oxygen from a firm reached them around 1:30 am.
Gangaram Hospital received 5,000 cubic metres of oxygen supply from a private vendor before 3 am.

Gangaram Hospital received 4,500 cubic metres of oxygen supply from a private vendor before 3 am.
Another supplier sent 6,000 cubic metres of it later.

Dr. Suresh Kumar, medical director of the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, said a truck carrying oxygen from a vendor reached the facility around 3 am.
There is no shortage of medical oxygen at hospitals in Delhi and that the government is taking all measures to ensure uninterrupted supply to provide better treatment to patients infected with Covid-19, L-G House sources told India TV.
