ATLANTA, Ga. (WTXL) â During the 2020 legislative session, Governor Brian Kemp recommended and lawmakers approved the creation of a law enforcement training grant program through the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for state and local law enforcement agencies.
On Wednesday it came to fruition.
Kemp announced the award of 63 grants in the amount of $6,756,389 for the Law Enforcement Training Grant Program Wednesday afternoon. More than $50 million in drugs, 1,416 pounds of methamphetamine seized in Polk County investigation, officials say
Several arrests have been made and more than 1,400 pounds of methamphetamine have been seized after a recent investigation known as Operation Dirty Water, officials with the Polk County Sheriff s Office said.

Missing Georgia woman found dead in Banks County, deputies say

BANKS COUNTY, Ga. - The search for a missing Banks County woman has ended with the discovery of her body.
Deputies in Baldwin County and Banks County had been searching for 42-year-old Amanda Hall since her disappearance on Friday, April 23. She had been last seen in Homer, Georgia.
Thursday, officials with the Banks County Sheriff s Office said on Facebook that deputies found Hall s body while conducting a grid search of a wooded area near where she was last known to be.

BANKS COUNTY, Ga. A woman missing since last Friday in Banks County was found dead on Wednesday, the sheriff s office reported.
In a Facebook post, the Banks County Sheriff s Office said Amanda Hall was discovered by deputies in a heavily wooded area in the proximity of Mrs. Hall s last known whereabouts.
The sheriff s office has not yet offered further details, saying its Criminal Investigation Division is working with the Banks County Coroner s Office to determine the cause and events surrounding her death.
An autopsy will be performed later this week, the sheriff s office said.
