INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) The Indiana State Department of Health has issued new COVID-19 information for our state.
ISDH says 5,429 more Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19. Those tests were recorded between Nov. 23 and Jan. 1.
A total of 523,090 Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19.
ISDH says 39 more Hoosiers have died from COVID-19. The deaths occurred between Dec. 21 and Jan. 1.
A total of 8,055 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19. Another 355 “probable” deaths have occurred, but a positive test is not on record.
The 7-day positivity rate for unique individuals stands at 24.8%. The 7-day positivity rate for all tests is 14.5%.
There are currently 2,655 Hoosiers hospitalized with COVID-19.

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) New Year’s celebrations are going to look different because of the pandemic.
Bars and restaurants in Indianapolis, Fishers and some other locales have been ordered to be closed or closing when the clock strikes midnight Thursday because of COVID-19 restrictions.
In Marion County, bars and restaurants will remain under a health order, first issued in November, and be closed from midnight Dec. 31 to 5 a.m. Jan. 1.
In Fishers, its health department ordered all restaurants and bars to close by 10 p.m. Fishers’ order closed to customers between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. with only carryout allowed began at 10 p.m. Dec. 25 and will end at 5 a.m. Jan. 8.

March 6, 2020: Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) confirms the first case in Indiana. Officials say the Marion County resident had recently traveled to Boston to attend a BioGen conference as a contractor.
March 8: ISDH confirms a second case. A Hendricks County adult who had also traveled to the BioGen conference was placed in isolation. Noblesville Schools says a parent and that parent’s children will self-quarantine after attending an out-of-state event where someone tested positive.

On a team loaded with talented senior wrestlers, junior Jacob Johnson is one sizeable look at both the present and future for 10th-ranked Franklin.
Johnson, a state finalist at 285 pounds last season, has built on that experience by gaining confidence and strength, and he’s currently ranked fifth in the state in his weight class.
He takes a spotless 12-0 record into the Class 3A state duals tournament on Saturday, an event being hosted by the Grizzly Cubs. Johnson, who lost in the opening round of the state finals at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and finished his sophomore season with a 32-10 record, placed fifth at sectional as a ninth-grader and has a career record of 61-23.
