INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Pacers (30-34) will take on the Sacramento Kings (28-37) on Wednesday night in Indianapolis. The Pacers are coming off an embarrassing 154-141 loss against the Wizards on Monday evening, and the loss is even more of a tough pill to swallow considering that the Wizards are now only 0.5 games behind them in the standings.
On the season, the Pacers have been above the league average in points per game (eighth in the NBA at 115 points per game ), but they are in the bottom five teams in all of the NBA in defense, allowing even more points than they score (115.1 points per game).
Pacers to Host “Celebration of Life” for Slick Leonard
INDIANAPOLIS The Indiana Pacers will honor longtime coach and broadcaster Slick Leonard with a “celebration of life.” The public event will be next Wednesday, May 12.
Only 1,500 people will be able to attend at Bankers Life Fieldhouse due to COVID restrictions. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m., and will cost $5.29 each, in honor of the 529 games Leonard won as the Pacers head coach. The event will also be streamed on the team’s website.
“While we continue to mourn his passing and miss his always colorful presence, we look forward to offering a public farewell to one of the most impactful figures in our state’s basketball history,” said Pacers Sports & Entertainment President Rick Fuson. “We also want to offer up one last ‘Boom Baby’ in Slick’s honor.”
HENDERSON, Ky. Henderson County reported a single new confirmed case of COVID-19 Saturday.
The Green River District Health Department reported 35 cases in its seven-county district Saturday, with the majority from Daviess County, where there were 25 new confirmed cases.
Other counties in the district reported single-digit new cases or no new cases: There were four in Ohio County, three in Hancock County, and one each in Union and Webster counties. McLean County reported no new COVID cases.
The GRDHD did not disclose any new COVID-related deaths in the district Saturday.
The incidence rate, which measures the average daily cases per 100,000 population over the past seven days, dropped to 11.7 for Henderson County as of Friday afternoon, which maintained its designation in the orange or accelerated level.

Kevin Durant scored a season-high 42 points and dished out 10 assists as the firast-place Brooklyn Nets won their fourth straight game with a 130-113 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.
Durant scored 22 points in the third quarter as the Nets closed out Thursday’s contest with a 17-7 run and improved to 43-20 with the victory at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
After a disastrous homestand, the Trail Blazers have achieved a measure of redemption by starting a six-game road trip with blowout victories versus the Pacers and Grizzlies. They’ll try to build on those wins when they face the Brooklyn Nets Friday night at Barclays Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
