Infant taken to Children s Healthcare of Atlanta after

Two teenagers from Norcross and a 4-month-old boy were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries after a Sunday car accident in Hall County. According to Sgt. Major Patterson with the Georgia State Patrol, the single-vehicle accident happened at 11:55 a.m. on Poplar Springs Road, east of Pine Vale Road. 19-year-old Kevin Ornandi Murillo-Miraldo of Norcross was driving a 2006 Honda Civic eastbound on Poplar Springs Road at the time of the incident. 18-year-old Catherin Velasquez-Gueva of Norcross and a 4-month-old boy were passengers in the vehicle, according to Sgt. Patterson. As Murillo-Miraldo approached a left curve, the vehicle started to travel off the right shoulder of the roadway. Murillo-Miraldo over-corrected to the left and crossed the center line. Sgt. Patterson said Murillo-Miraldo again over-corrected and lost control of the vehicle.

A 4-month-old boy was flown by helicopter to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite around noon, according to authorities. Georgia State Patrol assistant post commander Sgt. Major Patterson Kevin Onandi said Murillo-Miralda, 19, of Norcross, was driving a Honda Civic eastbound on Poplar Springs Road toward a left curve and traveled off of the right shoulder of the road.

Charges pending in White County crash that seriously in

Charges are pending against a Michigan man in a White County wreck that seriously injured him and his passenger Wednesday night. Matthew Morgan, 30, of Marquette, Mich., was driving a 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 truck north on Ga. 75 (Helen Highway) near Tom Bell Road at the time of the wreck, said Sgt. M. Patterson of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville. As the road curved to the left, Morgan traveled straight and failed to maintain the vehicle’s lane of travel, Patterson said. The truck traveled several feet on the east shoulder and overturned after traveling through a ditch. The truck came to a final uncontrolled rest down a steep embankment facing west in the upright position.
