Adair County reports 22 new COVID cases, 24th death

The Adair County Health Department confirmed 22 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, including the death of a 49-year-old male who passed away on July 16, 2021.
Adair County stands at 2,750 total cases of COVID-19 and 24 deaths from the virus. There have been four COVID deaths in July. Before the death of an 86-year-old female on July 12, there hadn’t been a COVID-related death in the county since Jan. 31.
There are 69 active cases in Adair County.
A previously identified 96-year-old female was admitted to Boone Hospital in Columbia on Wednesday. A 21-year-old female among Thursday’s cases was admitted to Northeast Regional Medical Center on July 27.

Adair County continues to see COVID case increases this summer, including the first virus-related deaths since January.
The Adair County Health Department reported 11 new cases of the virus on Monday, which comes after 43 cases and two deaths were reported last week.
An 86-year-old woman died from a COVID-19 on July 12, one day after she was admitted to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville. That was Adair County’s first COVID-related death since Jan. 13.
A 30-year-old female who had been hospitalized at NRMC since July 6 died on July 15. Adair County is at 2,647 total cases of the virus and 22 deaths attributed to the virus.
