Eliot Kang
U.S. President Joe Biden has nominated Eliot Kang as assistant secretary for international security and non-proliferation, the White House said Monday.
Kang serves as acting assistant secretary already but needs the green light from the U.S. Senate.
Kang is the second Korean American to be nominated to the post after Todd Kim who was appointed assistant attorney general for environment and natural resources at the Department of Justice.
Kang graduated from Cornell University and received a PhD from Yale University. He later taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Northern Illinois University. He was also a fellow at the Brookings Institution and U.S. Council on Foreign Relations.
