The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force this week announced it has surpassed 50,000 arrests over the last 18 years. The Task force is made up of 8 Divisions, which includes Mansfield along with the Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Toledo and Youngtown areas. According to RichlandSource.com, since 2003 – the task force has seized more than 2,200 firearms, 47,000 rounds of ammunition, $4.4 million in cash and close to 900 kilograms of illegal narcotics.

WADSWORTH, Ohio (WOIO) - Seven people are facing charges in connection to the disappearance and murder of Iron Cannon.
The 27-year-old Akron man was fatally shot on Oct. 18, 2020, in Wadsworth, according to a press release.
Police said their investigation revealed, âan intricate cover-upâ of destroyed evidence, including Cannonâs body, which remains missing.

CANTON – Federal agents have arrested a northeast Canton man accused of raping a 3-year-old child.
Brandon C. Newell, 29, of Maple Avenue NE, was arrested at 9 a.m. Tuesday at his home by agents with the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to Stark County Jail records.
He was indicted Aug. 28 on warrants charging him with rape and gross sexual imposition. The incidents for which he was charged reportedly occurred between March 2020 and September.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announced Wednesday in a news release that Newell s arrest was the 50,000th made by the task force since its inception 18 years ago.
