Onslow white supremacist convicted of dealing drugs, sentenced to 16 years

A habitual felon from Onslow County will spend the next decade and a half behind bars after investigators from local, state and federal agencies showed he was guilty of selling drugs and shooting at law enforcement.  On Wednesday, Sean Victor Smith, 32, was sentenced to 198 months (16-17 years) in prison for possession with intent to distribute a quantity of methamphetamine and possessing, brandishing, and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. The initial investigation began on Oct. 22, 2019 when the Onslow County Sheriff s Office started looking into a possible burglary on West Morton Street in Jacksonville.

(WMBF) - A woman has died after crashing her vehicle in the parking lot of a daycare center in Scotland County, according to officials. Master Trooper Raymond Pierce with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said troopers were called to the area of State Road 16-22, or Crestline Road, shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday. Pierce said the driver was traveling northbound on Crestline Road when the car ran off the road to the right, overcorrected before running off the left side of the roadway and struck a culvert.

Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of fighting just after 1 a.m. at The Stump Event Center, which is located in the Mountain View community of Hickory. When deputies arrived they encountered a large crowd at the venue. Deputies said they located two people on-site suffering from gunshot wounds. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene and the second person was transported to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
