A North Dakota-based real estate investment group is buying the historic Heer s building and its luxury apartments on Park Central Square.
On Monday, officials from Edgewood Real Estate Investment Trust and TLC Properties announced the building had changed hands.
For years, the property has been owned by the Kansas City area Dalmark Group, which was responsible for turning the vacant former department store into an 80-unit luxury apartment complex with commercial space starting in 2014.
The group filed public documents for the property under the Heer s Luxury Living, LLC in 2013, which state records say was run by a representative from the Dalmark Group.

Busch Beer is helping Farm Rescue, a North Dakota-based nonprofit organization.
The official beer of NASCAR, Busch Beer is giving NASCAR fans everywhere the opportunity to choose the name of one of the biggest events in NASCAR, the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway on May 2. All fans need to do is make a $1 donation to Farm Rescue, the one-of-a-kind nonprofit that supports family farmers during crisis, and submit their idea for the race name.
The winning fan-created name will become the official race title across the country, appearing on the logo, tickets to the event, NASCAR.com, race merchandise, and etched into the grass at Kansas Speedway. Commentary team of Clint Bowyer, Jeff Gordon, and Mike Joy will be giving the name on air
A decade after North Dakotans voted to established the Legacy Fund, the account is worth more than $8.1 billion. Lawmakers have used the fund's earnings to balance the state's budget in recent years, but leaders from both parties say they want to show residents this legislative session that the fund is being put toward quality-of-life improvements.
