After a traffic ticket, a Grand Forks legislator moved to restrict UND police jurisdiction
A pair of UND police officers ticketed Rep. Steve Vetter, R-Grand Forks, in mid-December. About a month after he was ticketed by a pair of UND police officers, a Grand Forks legislator submitted a bill to narrow the department’s jurisdiction.

Burgum makes appointments to North Dakota s higher-ed board

Gov. Doug Burgum has appointed two members to North Dakota’s higher-ed governance board.
Burgum appointed Jeffry Volk, of West Fargo, to a four-year term on the State Board of Higher Education and reappointed Dr. Casey Ryan, of Grand Forks, to a second four-year term on the board.
Though spread could still occur in the fall, Wynne said the number of people that should be vaccinated at that time paired with the number of people who have protection from the virus after already having it, would mean a much lower chance of exponential spread on the state’s campuses.
