OLYMPIA, Wash. Whether it’s supportive messages in a school hallway or new laws signed by the governor, students in Washington state are helping their peers deal with the mental strains of the pandemic.
To mark Mental Health Awareness Month students at North Thurston High School are putting up signs covered with sticky notes containing supportive messages like “You are valued” and “You are a genius.”

Travis Graham takes the helm July 1
Purdy has a new superintendent taking the helm July 1 following the resignation of Mindi Gates, who will be returning to her hometown school in Cassville next year.
Purdy School Board of Education President Todd Schallert introduced Travis Graham as the districts 2021-2022 Superintendent at a special staff meeting on March 22.
We are so happy to welcome Dr. Graham and his family, not only to the school, but to the community, Schallert said. Dr. Graham brings a wealth of diverse educational experience to the position.
