Man shot dead in Wallerfield

Police are trying to identify a man who was gunned down in Wallerfield on Monday afternoon.
The Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol received reports of gunshots at Moonan Road, Wallerfield, at around 3.30 pm and went to the scene.
They found a man of mixed descent bleeding in a yard.
The man was taken to the Arima hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to his left shoulder and lower back, but he died at around 4 pm.
Police found and seized two spent shells.
The Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
Carapo man found dead

Police are continuing enquiries into the death of a 23-year-old man whose body was found in Carapo on Monday morning.
They said residents reported finding a body at Race Course Road at around 9.14 am.
Members of the Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol found the body in a grassy area near a car park.
Homicide Investigators were called.
Investigators said he appeared to have been shot in the head.
The Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II is continuing enquiries.
Would-be truck thief shot in Arima

A 23-year-old Arima man is being treated after being shot while trying to steal a truck on Monday morning.
Police said members of the Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol were called to La Retreat Extension, Dump Road, Arima, at around 10 am after residents heard gunshots.
Police found the man bleeding from his left arm. He was taken to hospital.
Residents said the man tried to steal a truck from the Heights of Guanapo and was shot at by people who tried to stop him.
Police said the man shot back but abandoned the truck and ran away before the police eventually found him.
Three men shot dead in separate incidents: Murder spree

One man begged for his life outside his home when he was shot dead, another managed to save the lives of relatives when he alerted them to the presence of gunmen in his casino when he too was killed. A third was selling doubles when he was felled by a hail of bullets.
This sums up a spate of killings on Tuesday night.
The killings brought the murder toll to 389 for the year thus far, compared to 518 for the corresponding period last year.
In the first incident market vendor Michel Diaz, 35, was taking garbage out at his Tunapuna home at around 7.30 pm.
