NORTH PROVIDENCE – After a tumultuous and unpredictable 14 months navigating the unexpected challenges of the pandemic, graduating seniors at North Providence High School are ready to celebrate. While they missed out on countless opportunities during their junior and senior year as a result of the pandemic, members of the Class of 2021 will be able to experience their senior prom and an in-person graduation. Senior prom is set for June 9 at the Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln. The event will be limited to NPHS seniors only, and students will not be able to bring guests. All students must test negative for COVID-19 within 48 hours of the event and provide proof of the negative test to attend. There will be no exceptions to this policy, say school officials. They’ll also be required to wear masks when away from their tables, but may remove them briefly to take pictures.
