Air ambulance attends medical emergency in Swarthmoor | The Westmorland Gazette

Emergency services attended a private address in Trinkeld Avenue, Swarthmoor, near Ulverston, at around 10am. A helicopter landed in the grounds of Swarthmoor Social Football Club. A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance Service said: It was a patient who was reported to be suffering from a serious medical problem, so we flew a doctor and paramedic. They treated the patient on-scene then accompanied them to hospital by road. The spokesman said the patient was taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow and that sometimes the location of the patient meant it was quicker for them to go by road rather than air.
