At approximately 4pm, fire engines and police attended the crash on London Road in Preston after a police van crashed with a car. Minor injuries were sustained as one person was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service. Police confirmed the accident had happened but said injuries were not severe/ A spokesman from Fire Services said: On 23rd April, two fire engine from Preston attended a road traffic collision on London Road, Preston. The incident involved one car and one van. One casualty was released from their vehicle by firefighters using Holmatro equipment and a longboard.
The incident happened on April 10 in Setmurphy Woods. A spokesman for the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue said: A 21-year old male crashed his mountain bike in Setmurthy Woods, sustaining leg and chest injuries. The North West Ambulance Service road ambulance and Great North Air Ambulance crews treated the casualty. Team members then stretchered him to road ambulance that had driven up into the woods, from where he was driven to the air ambulance and flown to the Royal Preston Hospital. It has been listed as the sixth call out for the Cockermouth team this year. On March 3 the team were called when a female walker suffered a painful leg injury on Sale Fell, near Wythop.

Two people were taken to hospital following a nasty collision between two cars in Chadderton yesterday teatime (Thursday).
The smash happened on Broadway, at the junction with the end of Fold Green, right outside the San Rocco restaurant.
The collision occured shortly before 5.30pm, so traffic chaos ensued as many drivers remained stuck on Broadway for around an hour before police eventually allowed cars in the immediate vicinity to move on.
Broadway was blocked off for a spell between Hunt Lane and Thatch Leach, meaning side-roads in the area were extremely busy in the rush hour.
