No vehicle was at the scene in the 5500 block of Wolfgang School Road in Manheim Township at Codorus State Park when Northern York County Regional Police arrived there just before 3 a.m. Through interviews, police learned the pair had been attending a party down the street before the incident occurred.
Police said 19-year-old Elijah Winbourne, of Hanover, was pulling the unidentified pair on the box spring/mattress set by a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado. The mattress and box spring were attached to the truck by a chain.
The man and woman flew off the mattress while Winbourne was negotiating a curve. The driver fled the scene, police said, and returned to the party, where police say the box spring and mattress were thrown into a bonfire.

Inside the Northern York County Regional Police Department Friday officers huddled around computers as others wore helmets with fake weapons strapped to their hips.
The department has just acquired new training technology that will put all of its 62 officers as well as any new hires to the test.
The goal is to teach officers how to react to real-life scenarios before they have to make split second decisions in communities. A completely immersive 3D experience places officers in the line of fire of active shooters and on the defense of combative individuals. The technology also teaches officers how to de-escalate confrontations and make smarter decisions

The coroner’s office, citing police, said Kamdyn Torres “wandered off” from his North York home early Sunday evening.
The coroner’s office said the family “quickly noticed” the boy’s absence and reported him missing.
Officers were called to the boy’s home in the 1300 block of North Duke Street at 6:30 p.m. when Torres was last seen 15 minutes prior, police said.

Gay said Torres was found at about 8:15 p.m. in water, about 300 feet from the tunnel entrance. Although attempts were made to save his life, the 2-year-old was pronounced dead at York Hospital at 9:11 p.m.
Update:
York County Coroner Pam Gay released the name of the toddler who drowned on Sunday as Kamdyn Torres, 2.
Kamdyn would have turned 3 on Friday.
