Police: Waynesboro woman sexually abused minor while working as YMCA swim coach

Updated: 4:54 PM EST January 13, 2021 WAYNESBORO, Pa. A 30-year-old Waynesboro woman has been charged after police say she sexually abused a minor while working as a swim coach for the Waynesboro YMCA. Emily Virginia Miller, of the 300 block of S. Potomac St., allegedly abused the victim between 2016 and 2018, when he was between the ages of 11 and 13 years old, police say. The alleged abuse took place while Miller s swim team was competing at swim meets in York County, according to police. The victim said the abuse occurred in hotels near the York YMCA, where he was staying during the competitions. The victim, now 16, reported the alleged abuse to the Franklin County Children s Advocacy Center, which notified Northern York County Regional Police on August 28, 2020. 

Update: York County coroner identifies man who died at hospital after house fire in Jackson Township

Updated: 12:15 AM EST January 11, 2021 YORK COUNTY, Pa. Update (Jan.10) The York County Coroner s Office has identified the man who died at York Hospital after a fire in Jackson Township. Walter Krout, 88, of the 6300 block of Pine Road was the victim, according to the coroner. The coroner says his cause of death was ruled as inhalation and burns due to the fire. Krout s manner of death was ruled as accidental, the coroner said. Previous: A man died at the hospital hours after his home went up in flames on Thursday morning in Jackson Township, the York County Coroner s Office said in a release.

Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run in Manchester Twp. Updated Dec 19, 2020; Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a 40-year-old man early Saturday morning in Manchester Township. The incident happened about 1:20 a.m. in the 300 block of the Loucks Road ( Route 30), according to a Northern York County Regional Police news release. Police said the victim was on foot in the westbound lanes of Loucks Road when a car going west struck the man and the driver fled the scene. The York County Coroner’s Office said in a news release that it appears the man was fatally hit when he was crossing the roadway.

Man pinned under vehicle after slipping on ice dies in York County Updated Dec 19, 2020; Authorities believe a man found pinned under his car left the vehicle in drive when he exited it, then slipped on ice before the vehicle rolled on top of his legs, pinning him under the tire. It happened in Dover Township Friday. The man died around 1:25 p.m. from his injuries at WellSpan York Hospital. The man’s name won’t be released until his family is notified, according to the York County Coroner’s Office. His cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma due to an accident.
