Blue Origin, one of the spaceflight companies up for a high-profile contract to put NASA astronauts back on the moon, on Monday officially protested the agency s decision to instead invest billions into SpaceX s Starship program.
But unlike most protests of government contracts, this one is a battle of the world s two richest men. Both have a history of sniping at each other and both aspire to be the Henry Ford of private space travel.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos launched Blue Origin in 2000. Elon Musk, one of the founders of PayPal, started SpaceX in 2002.
