A vote to name Congresswoman Elise Stefanik as the next GOP Conference Chair is expected to happen Wednesday.
Republicans are looking to remove Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney from the position due to her criticism of former president Donald Trump. Stefanik, who represents the 21st District, already has support from both Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. If approved, Stefanik would be the third-highest ranking Republican in the House of Representatives.
