Residents of the Historical Park Apartments were evacuated Thursday afternoon after they started feeling an itchy, burning sensation in their throat and eyes, Utica fire officials said.
Firefighters, police and ambulance crews responded at 2:08 p.m. to the 11-story building at 100 Rutger St., located just east of downtown Utica.
As of 3:30 p.m. Thursday, city fire Chief Scott Ingersoll said one person was sent to a local hospital and emergency crews still were trying to find the source of the irritant.
On Friday morning, Ingersoll said no source of irritant had been found after the building was checked multiple times with different meters.
