Bleeding Heartland

Bleeding Heartland Thursday, Apr 29 2021 Officials in the Iowa Department of Public Safety and the governor’s office decided during the summer of 2020 to install a permanent fence around the Terrace Hill mansion in Des Moines, records obtained by Bleeding Heartland show. The documents don’t reveal, nor did state officials clarify, whether Governor Kim Reynolds or her staff pushed for added security around the governor’s official residence. A “Barn Here” photo exhibit featuring unique Wyoming barns will be on display at Fort Caspar Museum from April 15 through June 27. “Barn Here” is a traveling exhibit arranged by the Wyoming State Museum. Fort Caspar said on Tuesday that visitors will get to learn about how Wyoming barns are different from those built in other parts of the country. “Wyoming barns differ greatly in style and function from barns in many other parts of the United States,” the museum said. “Climate, available building materials, ethnic traditions, and many other factors influence how they are constructed. Beautiful black-and-white photographs from the State Historic Preservation Office depict barns from throughout Wyoming.”
