In January, the U.S. Department of Treasury awarded $6,383,864 to the City of Fayetteville and $3,735,545 to Cumberland County to implement the Emergency Rental Assistance Program, which was part of the year-end COVID-19 relief package.

The Treasury is overseeing and administering the program to states and counties or municipalities with populations over 200,000 people.
Cumberland County and the City of Fayetteville have issued a joint Request for Proposals for qualified firms to provide administration services for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program designed to assist families struggling to make rental and utility payments.

Designed to help Kansas families needing assistance, Share The Warmth is a partnership between The Salvation Army and Kansas Gas Service providing energy assistance to senior citizens, individuals with disabilities and those whose immediate financial resources simply cannot cover their home-heating expenses.
Manager of Public Relations for Kansas Gas Service Dawn Tripp says this program is designed to help low income Kansas residents with their home heating expenses and navigating the hardships with the current pandemic.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. New numbers show hundreds of thousands across North Carolina are behind on their utilities.
Duke Energy s most recent data show 475,000 customers, nearly 16%, were at least 30 days behind in making a payment. In all, 170,000 accounts, nearly 6%, were enrolled in repayment plans, Duke Energy reported.
