ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KFVS) - Ameren Missouri is designating an additional $3.5 million to help low-income customers impacted by COVID-19.
Ameren Missouri has worked with the Missouri Public Service Commission and Office of Public Counsel to help eligible customers.
“We want customers to know that Ameren Missouri is here to help, especially in times of critical need. These additional funds will support more customers as we head into summer, a time when electricity usage is typically much higher,” said Marty Lyons, chairman and president of Ameren Missouri.
At End of LIHEAP Season, Department of Human Services Encourages Pennsylvania Renters to Apply for Utility Assistance Through the New Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Harrisburg, PA - Today, Department of Human Services (DHS) Acting Secretary Meg Snead reminded Pennsylvanians that the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) season has ended, but assistance with utility bills remains available through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) to individuals and families who live in rental properties. A total of $847 million has been distributed among Pennsylvania’s 67 counties to help thousands of families maintain their housing and utility services and to sustain the rental and utility industries hit hard by the economic downturn. ERAP launched in March.

This week (April 26-30) the Senate passed the budget we have worked on for the last three months and added amendments and sent it back to the house. These bills will now go to conference to resolve differences between the Senate version and the House version of the Budget bills.

Struggling residents caught a break this week after the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program distributed over $21 million to consumer-owned utility companies to help clear overdue utility bills.
Brendan Conway, a spokesman for We Energies, said 18,000 of his company’s customers will receive assistance. This represents about half of the total recipients. Conway said We Energies customers accounted for about $12 million of the new payments.
