We deemed its hellish party one worth attending, even if one of its core mechanics, drinking, was somewhat underdeveloped. Afterparty physical release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, with preorders opening on Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. ET. You’ll get a delightfully colorful folded map included too, as Limited Run Games wants to incentivize a physical pick-up.
Afterparty, From The Studio That Made Oxenfree, Gets Physical Switch Release

Do the folks at Limited Run Games ever take a break? Just days after their massively successful release of Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game, the publisher has announced a physical release of Afterparty, the narrative game (by Oxenfree creators, Night School) that s all about drinking your way out of Hell. Kinda like Hades, but with more bad decisions.
The four-week preorder period for the physical version of Afterparty will begin on Friday, 29th January, at 10am Eastern Time. Alongside the physical box and game card, customers will also receive a folded illustration of the map of Hell. Anyone with a record player may also be interested in the Afterparty OST, by Oxenfree composer @scntfc, printed on hellish blood-red vinyl and available in the same period.

We ve said it before and we ll say it again: it s a
damn shame that physical copies of games rarely come with instruction booklets these days. Unless you re buying from smaller-print releases from publishers like Limited Run Games or Super Rare Games, mass-produced releases infrequently offer more than a disc and box now.
Physical games still have their perks, but we do miss the smaller elements that come with it. Thankfully, that spirit is being kept alive by more than just niche publishers. Fans have come together too and they ve now created a

Scott Pilgrim series far and wide have been begging the series creator, Bryan Lee O Malley, Ubisoft, Oni Press, and physical game publishers like Limited Run Games to release a physical edition of
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game ever since it was delisted from online storefronts back in 2014. Thankfully Ubisoft announced late last year that a new Complete Edition of the game would be coming back digitally for the game s 10th anniversary, but it wasn t until recently that a physical edition was also revealed for Nintendo Switch.
This reveal was a huge moment for the community as, for most, there really was no way to play the game unless it they still had it downloaded on their system. This may go down as an important moment in game preservation history, a prime example as to why physical games are still so important today.
