Motorcyclist dies following hit-and-run crash with pickup truck on Ferrell Pkwy in Virginia Beach

Updated: 9:00 AM EDT May 29, 2021 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a man Friday night in the area between Indian River Road and Indian Lakes Boulevard. The Virginia Beach Police Department said it got a call Friday, May 28 around 10:39 p.m. about a vehicle and a motorcycle that crashed in the 5000 block of Ferrell Parkway. When officers arrived at the scene they found a man, the driver of the motorcycle lying on the roadway suffering serious injuries. Medics said he died there.  According to the police investigation, the motorcyclist was traveling east on Ferrell Pkwy. when a dark blue Toyota Tundra pick-up truck (with dark tinted windows) was headed west on Indian River Rd. making a left-hand turn.

Police are saying if anyone recognizes the unique apparel in the photographs above and below, it may assist investigators identify potential witnesses. Virginia Beach Police are continuing to investigate Harris death. She was shot and killed at the Oceanfront on March 26. On April 30 police provided an update saying surveillance video, eyewitness statements and other evidence continue to indicate that Deshayla Harris was struck by gunfire exchanged between groups of individuals.

Virginia Beach Police said around 12:45 a.m., Virginia Beach Emergency Communications got reports of gunfire being exchanged between two parties in the 400 block of Breakwater Court. Responding officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. Police said the driver failed to stop and fled from officers. The vehicle was later located a short distance away, unoccupied. No injuries were reported during this incident, police said.

Virginia Beach Police say they have located the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a bicyclist on Tuesday night and arrested the suspected driver. Investigators say that shortly before 10 p.m., they were notified of a hit-and-run involving a car and a bicyclist in the 2400 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard. First responders arrived to find the bicyclist, 33-year old Christopher E. Warren, lying in the roadway. Warren was pronounced dead at the scene.
