CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors has called out Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and other state leaders for the unavailability of COVID-19 vaccine both across Virginia and within the county. Virginiaâs campaign to vaccinate the masses is totally defective, a letter to the governor signed by the county s five supervisors read. We have run out of patience and tolerance. Our citizens deserve better. They also deserve accountability as to what personnel or systems are responsible for the inordinate challenges that arise, almost daily.
VIRGINIA ENACTS FIRST PERMANENT WORKPLACE VIRUS PROTECTION STANDARDS IN THE NATION
RICHMOND, VA – Today, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam signed into effect the first permanent workplace virus protection standards in the nation. On Wednesday, January 13, 2021, the Virginia Health and Safety Board voted 9 – 4 (with one abstention) to create the first permanent workplace virus protection standards in the country.
It was during this past summer while the COVID-19 virus began seeing a major uptick in positive cases across the Commonwealth that Virginia became the first state in the nation to enact an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) emergency temporary standard that addressed workplace protections. States such as California, Michigan, Oregon, and Washington followed suit and also enacted similar emergency temporary standards.

The Department of Homeland Security looked the other way. So did the Pentagon. The FBI collected reports of violence and criminal activity but took no action. The U.S. Capitol Police wrote a threat assessment that President Trump s supporters were disappointed and desperate, that they might become violent. They were all monitoring social media. But only the District of Columbia government and police went on alert; no one else otherwise prepared. That s because government and military officials were afraid.
In the wake of an attack on the U.S. Capitol and in preparation for Joe Biden’s upcoming presidential inauguration on Jan. 20, Washington D.C. is undergoing a rapid security transformation to guard the Capitol and city against another wave of violence perpetrated by pro-Trump combatants.
Following the Jan. 6 attacks on the Capitol as the Senate convened to discuss the certification of 2020 election results, the FBI warns of potential violence during the inauguration and in the surrounding days, both in D.C. and state capitals. In response, the Department of Defense has deployed the most National Guard troops to the District in history to patrol closed-down streets and public transportation systems. Mayor Muriel Bowser and private businesses are also taking proactive steps, such as shutting down public transportation and lodging, to ensure the safety of D.C. residents throughout the week.
