The landscape for tech jobs is changing, according to a new study from the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).
Although California still enjoys the No. 1 position for job postings, it is losing jobs while openings surge from Texas to Florida.
Virginia continues to hold its own as a hub for tech talent and jobs, coming in fourth for overall tech jobs and Artificial Intelligence jobs posted in March. Job postings increased enough from February to land the Commonwealth in the sixth, while it ranks eighth for work-from-home positions.
“While Virginia does not rank among the states with the highest tech industry employment growth rates over the past five years, this is largely due to the fact that the Commonwealth of Virginia already has a very large tech industry,” Suzanne Clark, a spokeswoman for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, said. “States that have seen the most spectacular growth in tec

TYSONS, VA Management consulting company Guidehouse will establish its global headquarters in Tysons, state and local officials announced Monday.
The new campus at 1676 International Drive in McLean will accommodate more than 1,550 employees at full capacity. The $12.7 million investment creates more than 900 initial jobs. This move will allow us to best accommodate growth, serve our people and clients, and attract talent, said Scott McIntyre, CEO of Guidehouse, in a statement. Virginia offers a highly skilled workforce and business-friendly climate, making it an ideal location for Guidehouse s future.

Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who s running for a second term this year, received $25,000 in campaign contributions from a businessman linked to his failed electric car company GreenTech that was probed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its use of a foreign investor visa program.
Sudhakar Shenoy, who was board chairman of GreenTech s sister company Gulf Coast Funds Management, gave $25,000 to McAuliffe s campaign in March after giving $25,000 to McAuliffe s PAC Common Good VA in 2020. Shenoy has given $75,000 to Common Good VA between 2015 and 2019.
Shenoy is now CEO of Virginia-based Alyx Technologies, according to his LinkedIn profile. McAuliffe left GreenTech in 2012 before announcing his previous campaign for governor.
