The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 674,843 total cases, 525,062 of which are confirmed and 149,174 are probable. There are 11,156 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 9,416 being confirmed and 1,740 being probable. The case numbers are up by 404, and deaths are up by 4 since Thursday.
On Friday Virginia will be easing COVID-19 restrictions heading into the holiday weekend. All capacity and social distancing restrictions will be lifted in the state Friday. Click here for more on what changes Friday.

RICHMOND, Va. Nearly 25 additional COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Virginia hospitals in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA).
The VHHA reports a total of 55,946 hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been discharged, an increase from 55,922 (+24) patients since Wednesday s update.
Hospitalizations have decreased in Virginia over the last 24 hours.
There are currently 514 patients in hospitals who are either positive or whose test results are pending, down from 527 (-13) Wednesday, according to the VHHA. Officials said 412 (+5) of those patients have COVID-19 while 102 (-18) have tests pending.

A total of 7,391,804 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
As of Thursday Virginia has given a total of 8,020,944 COVID-19 vaccines. That is 41,467 statewide doses given in a day. Hampton Roads administered 14% of the statewide COVID-19 vaccines given since Wednesday. The table below gives more information about local vaccine distribution.
