Virginia to fully reopen with no capacity limits and no social distancing June 15

Virginians could be just a few weeks away to a return to what was once normal.
On Thursday, Gov. Northam said the Commonwealth would end mediation measures, social distancing requirements and capacity limits on June 15 if COVID-19 metrics continue to look favorable.
Restaurants, theaters, gyms and everywhere else could fully reopen without socially distancing before summer.
Northam reiterated COVID-19 restrictions that are changing on May 15. On April 22 Northam announced these changes which would go into effect May 15. Those changes were to social gathering limits increasing to 100 people, for indoor settings and 250 for outdoor and allowed for entertainment and sporting venues to increase capacity limits. RICHMOND, Va. Fifty-five additional COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Virginia hospitals in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA).
The VHHA reports a total of 54,937 hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been discharged, an increase from 54,882 (+55) patients since Wednesday s update.
Hospitalizations have decreased in Virginia over the last 24 hours.
There are currently 847 patients in hospitals who are either positive or whose test results are pending, down from 896 (-49) Wednesday, according to the VHHA. Officials said 702 (-12) of those patients have COVID-19 while 145 (+31) have tests pending.

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 663,538 total cases, 515,827 of which are confirmed and 147,711 are probable. There are 10,844 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 9,124 being confirmed and 1,720 being probable. The case numbers are up by 842, and deaths are up by 21 since Tuesday

Virginia has given a total of 6,460,376 COVID-19 vaccines. That is 52,297 statewide doses given in a day. The table below gives more information about local vaccine distribution.
