Sri Lanka, Denmark keen to produce beverage in Bangladesh
Sri Lanka and Denmark have expressed keenness to produce beverage products in Bangladesh.
The information was reveled today at an inter-ministerial meeting for reviewing the progress of ‘Bangladesh Beverage Project’ at Industries Ministry in the city, said a press release.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun presided over the meeting while Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder were present on the occasion.
Industries Secretary KM Ali Azam moderated the meeting.
CEO of the Sri Lankan Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC Bob Kundanmal and Director of the Carlsberg Group Peter Steenberg joined the meeting virtually.

After 50 years of independence, Bangladesh has progressed in many economic and social indicators than Pakistan or even India, supported by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership and her relentless efforts, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said.
“We’ve made more progress in all fronts after 50 years of Liberation. Our foreign exchange reserve is $43 billion whereas it is $24 billion for Pakistan,” he remarked.
“In all economic and social indicators, we’re ahead of Pakistan. In some indicators, we’re even ahead of India. All these have been possible with the capable leadership of Sheikh Hasina and her tireless efforts,” he added.
