PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has once again been chosen to be on the executive board of the World Health Organisation for the Western Pacific region for a three-year period, allowing it to have a say in the making of its key policies, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

India’s updated proposal on the global IPR waiver has the support of 62 nations and aims to end the pandemic quickly, but it has been opposed by the European Union, the UK and Australia. It will be next discussed on June 8-9 by the TRIPS council of the WTO.
Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa or BRICS backed India and South Africa’s joint proposal to temporarily wave the COVID-19 vaccine patents.
