FG, labour receive Technical Committee report on PMS

Abuja – The Technical Committee on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) Pricing Framework has submitted its report to the Federal Government and the Organised Labour. Sen. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment, made the disclosure while addressing newsmen at the end of a bipartite meeting with the Federal Government and organised Labour on Tuesday in Abuja. Ngige said that the meeting had been adjourned to Feb. 22, when it would deliberate on the report. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Technical Committee was set up with a mandate to come up with a viable framework for PMS price modulation and electricity tariff.

STUC says Labour s position on second independence referendum is confused at best

Scotland editor THE Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) has said Labour’s position on a second independence referendum is “confused at best,” reiterating the need to break Scotland’s “constitutional logjam.”  STUC general secretary Roz Foyer called for debate in good faith about options for Scotland’s future, rebuking what she said was the party’s dismissive attitude towards both federalism and any second referendum.  Ms Foyer underlined the importance of the upcoming Scottish elections and said it was key that any debate on the constitution should “open enough space to explore alternative plans for independence and alternative proposals for devolution.”
