The Buffalo Bisons today announced that they will begin the 2021 Triple-A season in Trenton, NJ (at the home of the Trenton Thunder), while the Bisons and Toronto Blue Jays complete a joint renovation project to prepare Sahlen Field for Major League regular season games. The Bisons Home Opener is scheduled for Tuesday, May 4 against the Worcester Red Sox.

Fallon Health on Tuesday announced the creation of Fallon Health Square, located at the corner of Plymouth and Summit streets, at Polar Park in Worcester.

Fans of the Worcester Red Sox will now have a couple of reasons to cheer after a WooSox pitcher sits down an opposing hitter in 2021.
As part of its partnership with the WooSox, Fallon Health announced on Tuesday that it will donate $50 to the Worcester County Food Bank every time the home team strikes out a visitor at Polar Park. Fallon guaranteed a commitment of at least $50,000 during the season.

Red Sox director of player development Brian Abraham’s paternal grandparents lived in the Grafton Hill neighborhood of Worcester. His maternal grandparents lived in the Vernon Hills neighborhood. So Abraham is quite familiar with the area surrounding Polar Park, the home of Boston’s new Triple-A affiliate, the Worcester Red Sox.

In just over a month, Worcester will fully be a baseball town again. Momentum has grown since the franchise was awarded and Polar Park rose from the ground in the city’s Canal District. But when the first pitch is thrown in Scranton between the RailRiders and the Worcester Red Sox on April 6, in Pennsylvania and again a week later for the home opener, the arrival will be complete.
