Four arrested after shots fired in Worcester, police say

Four people are facing charges after shots were fired from a car in Worcester on Friday night, leading officers on a brief chase, police said.
Officers were told that around 9:50 p.m., a black Cadillac stopped on Lynnwood Lane. One person got out of the car and fired a handgun at a residence and then got back into the car, which drove off, according to a statement from police.
Another officer spotted the Cadillac on Dick Drive. When the officer tried to stop the car, the driver accelerated, police said.

SALEM, MA The Republican challenger in the 2020 U.S. 6th Congressional District race is pushing forward in a lawsuit against the state over election results on the basis that the allowance of no-excuse, mail-in ballots, ballot drop boxes and early voting because of the coronavirus health crisis violated the state constitution.
John Paul Moran, who unsuccessfully challenged incumbent Democrat Seth Moulton, was one of five candidates who moved the lawsuit previously filed in federal court to state court on the advice of a federal judge, the candidates said.

A 30-year-old Worcester man is facing one dozen charges in court after authorities say he led police on a chase from Auburn to Worcester.
At one point during the chase, the man blew out a tire but continued to drive, according to court records.
The driver, identified as Jarrel O. Grayson, was arraigned in Worcester District Court Monday. He was ordered held without bail and will return to court Wednesday for a dangerousness hearing.

John Guzman was charged with two counts of assault and battery by gun, two counts of armed assault to murder, use of a firearm in a felony, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, possession of a loaded firearm without a license.

Barre man charged in alleged racial attack in Worcester

WORCESTER – A 28-year-old Barre man has been charged with assaulting and violating the civil rights of a 65-year-old person he allegedly beat unconscious in a racially motivated attack, according to court documents.
Michael Miller of 39 North Brookfield Road, Barre, was arraigned in Worcester District Court Dec. 15 on charges of assault and battery with injury on a person age 60+ or disabled, unarmed robbery, civil rights violation with injury and disorderly conduct.
The charges stem from an alleged Nov. 25 incident shortly before midnight on Endicott Street.
According to court records, police were responding to a 911 call from a person saying he had been robbed by two men. While en route on Endicott Street, police happened upon a separate incident in which a Black male lay unconscious in the roadway.
