Coronavirus: No new deaths recorded in Worcestershire hospitals

THERE have been no new coronavirus related deaths recorded in Worcestershire s hospitals according to official statistics. The latest NHS England daily figures, released this afternoon (April 20) show there have been no new Covid deaths. This means the number of coronavirus deaths in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust remains at 804 with the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust’s total staying at 63. In total, there have been 867 Covid deaths in county hospitals and at least 1,344 in all settings. The Acute Hospitals Trust covers Worcestershire Royal Hospital, as well as the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital. The Health and Care NHS trust covers community hospitals and rehabilitation wards, including Worcester City Impatient Unit, Malvern Community Hospital, Evesham Community Hospital, Pershore Community Hospital, the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, Tenbury Community Hospital and the Wyre Forest Ward.

Man suffers fractured cheekbone, eye socket and nose in Evesham assault

A MAN suffered fractures to his wrist, cheekbone, eye socket and nose after being assaulted in Evesham on Saturday night. A spokesman for West Mercia police said: We were contacted at around 11.30pm on Saturday April 17 following reports of an assault at a premises on Avon Street, Evesham. A 25-year-old man from Evesham was assaulted and attended Worcestershire Royal Hospital with a fractured wrist, cheekbone, eye socket and nose. The incident is still being investigated, and police want help from witnesses. Anyone who saw anything should call 101, quoting incident 872 I 17042021.

Woman taken to hospital after multi-vehicle crash in Pershore

Police, the fire service and an ambulance were called to the scene at around midday. A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “We were called by police at 12:17pm to a multi-vehicle RTC at the junction of the A44 and Salters Lane in Pershore. We sent two ambulances to the scene. Crews treated a woman for injuries not believed to be serious before conveying her to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment. A second woman from a separate vehicle was treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene.”
