THERE have been no recorded coronavirus-related deaths across Worcestershire s hospitals for a ninth day in a row. The latest figures, announced by the NHS today (May 14), show no Covid-related deaths in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, and its total remains at 806. And there are no newly recorded deaths at Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, with its total remaining at 63. The total number of coronavirus related deaths in Worcestershire hospitals therefore remains at 869. In all settings, which includes care homes and hospices, the total stays at 1,354. The Acute Hospitals Trust covers Worcestershire Royal Hospital, as well as the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.

HOSPITALS: The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust HOSPITAL admissions linked to allergies have risen in recent years at the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust, figures reveal. Charity Allergy UK says increasing hospital visits across England linked to allergies are worrying, and wants to see more education about the risks of severe allergic reactions. NHS Digital data shows there were around 115 admission episodes with a primary diagnosis of allergies at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in 2019-20 – the latest full year’s worth of figures. That was up from around 85 in 2015-16 – the earliest year for which data was available – and around 90 in 2018-19.

The total number of coronavirus related deaths in Worcestershire hospitals therefore remains at 869. And in all settings, which includes care homes and hospices, the total stays at 1,354. Nationally, there were three deaths reported in the period covering from 4pm on April 8 to 4pm on April 9.
