Mighty Peace Brewing s Super Neat Saison (supplied)
VANCOUVER, B.C. – B.C. Breweries have released over 50 new beers inspired by the spring season.
The BC Ale Trail is highlighting the new beers from across the province, including fun flavours like mango, apricot, cherry, and vanilla. Locally, Mighty Peace Brewing in Fort St. John has ‘Super Neat Saison’ brewed with haskaps and blackcurrants harvested right here in the Peace region.
The BC Ale Trail results from a partnership with Destination British Columbia and the BC Craft Brewers Guild. The Ale Trail is a way to highlight local craft brewery destinations and the landscapes that surround them. There are 150 breweries and 20 different Ale Trails, including a Northern BC Ale Trail.
The beers will be showcased the night before through the same platform, 6 p.m. start. “It was apparent by spring 2020 that we were not going to be able to host Kiwanis Alefest in 2021,” said AleFest organizer Jamie Cunningham. “However, we felt collectively that if there was a time that the breweries needed a little extra attention and people needed a little bit more happiness, it was this year. This project has been so much fun to plan, and the cherry on the top is that all the proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon, and charities that support kids and families in the North.”
