Starbucks Canada is continuing its environmental stewardship commitments with the announcement of its new, revolutionary sustainably constructed café. The eco-friendly initiative is a significant step forward in the company’s global sustainability strategy and focuses on three key areas: storing more carbon than the company emits, eliminating waste, and providing more clean freshwater than the company uses.
The new sustainably constructed café from Starbucks Canada is set to open in 2021 in Abbotsford, B.C. The pioneering new concept was designed, manufactured, and constructed in collaboration with Vancouver-based green building company, Nexii Building Solutions. Key features of the new cafe include its reduced energy needs for heating and cooling, near-zero construction waste, six-day assembly thanks to Nexii s precision-manufacturing process, as well as the drive-thru concept designed to meet evolving customer needs.
