South Asia is a developing region struggling with economic and human development issues and strategies. One way to help pull them out of cycles of poverty is regional cooperation.
Unfortunately, such partnerships are complicated by disputes between India and Pakistan with roots from British rule and their partition. In addition, India is reluctant to embrace the influence of China in South Asia as it gradually expands. From Indian viewpoints, South Asia is undoubtedly its sphere of influence, which encourages New Delhi to build India-led multilateral development mechanisms.

Although the landmark Iran nuclear deal could improve regional stability if fully implemented, increased tensions have highlighted the risks posed by escalation, the UN’s Political and Peacebuilding Affairs chief told the Security Council on Tuesday.
Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo was speaking during a virtual meeting on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the July 2015 accord that set out rules for monitoring Iran’s nuclear programme and a pathway to easing sanctions.
The JCPOA was signed by Iran alongside the European Union and five permanent members of the Security Council: China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. However, Washington withdrew in May 2018.

New Delhi [India], December 21 (ANI): Fifth meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) network policy think tanks (BNPTT) was held to review and discuss the future roadmap on Monday.
The meeting was hosted by Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) wherein all the members of BIMSTEC participated. Secretary(East) delivered keynote address at 5th meeting of BIMSTEC Network Policy Think Tanks (BNPTT) hosted by RIS, New Delhi with the participation of think tanks of all 7 BIMSTEC countries, Anurag Srivastava, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson wrote in a tweet.
