Three free roundtrip rides on the Richmond Ferry, which currently takes commuters to and from San Francisco during weekday commute hours, are being offered to local residents who would have otherwise driven alone to work.
The Water Emergency Transit Agency (WETA) is offering the free rides via the Hopthru app, which can be downloaded in the iOS and Android stores.
To qualify, one must be an adult who lives or works in Contra Costa County, who typically drives alone to work and who agrees to complete a brief questionnaire aimed at assessing the program’s effectiveness. Also, individuals who have received any 511 Contra Costa promotion or program incentives from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, are not eligible to receive this incentive.

In response to strong demand for electric vehicles, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) expects rebate funds for the statewide Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) to be exhausted within 30 days.
Electric vehicles (EVs) account for nearly 8% of all light-duty vehicles sold in California. More than 145,000 EVs were sold in California in 2020 with a majority of sales taking place in the latter half of the year. Through the first quarter of 2021, CVRP rebate applications have already exceeded levels seen in early 2020, with substantially higher participation by low- and moderate-income consumers.

OAKLAND, Calif., April 12, 2021 /PRNewswire/ AB&I is asking for input from the Oakland Community about the Bay Area Air Quality Management District s (Air District) draft health risk assessment (HRA) report that was released on April 9, 2021. The draft report examined emissions from AB&I s Oakland facility. AB&I is inviting community input in the effort to save 100 well-paying union jobs, while complying with emissions standards that are 90% more stringent than they were as recently as 2017, said Michael Lowe, General Manager of AB&I Foundry.
