Local schools to celebrate graduates SHARE ON: Local schools will celebrate their graduates at the end of the year. In consultation with the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, the four local school boards – Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord, Conseil scholaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario, Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board and Near North District School Board – are confirming that school administrators will move ahead with virtual ceremonies with the opportunity of a drive-by component to “provide graduates and a few immediate family members a safe yet unique celebration.” The release says elementary school administrators are invited to offer virtual ceremonies to their graduating students with the possibility of a drive-by element if it is feasible and safe.

70% of adults in the region with one shot, Delta variant identified from Parry Sound SHARE ON: The local health unit reported no new cases of COVID-19 and one recovery from Parry Sound today.  The district now stands at one active case. The health unit also confirmed Wednesday that a previously reported case from Parry Sound tested positive for the Delta variant of concern originating in India.  This marks the first case of the Delta variant from Parry Sound and the second case throughout the region.  Six cases and no recoveries were added from Nipissing placing that district’s active case count at 18, six of which are in hospital.
