One Indicted, One Wanted For Murder Of Teen Whose Body Was Found In Blackwater State Forest : NorthEscambia com

April 28, 2021 An 18-year old man was indicted Tuesday for the murder of a 14-year old whose body was found March 28 in the Blackwater State Forest near Munson. Meanwhile, a second suspect remains on the run. Isaiah Jordan McCullers, 18, was indicted for first degree murder. He is being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail without bond. Isaac Cameron Daniels, 19, is wanted on an outstanding warrant for first degree murder during the commission of a robbery The remains were identified as Cody Walker of Pace. He was last seen on March 14 and reported missing on March 19. Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said evidence indicates he died the morning of March 15. His remains were found in a wooded area off Sandy Forest Road, south of the intersection of Highway 4 and Munson Highway.

DeFuniak Springs, Florida woman found guilty of multiple charges in 2019 shooting

State Attorney Ginger Bowden Madden announced in a Friday press release that a Walton County jury found Glenda Travaneisha Hamilton, of DeFuniak Springs, guilty of criminal mischief, aggravated battery with great bodily harm and with a firearm by discharging a firearm.  Sentencing is scheduled for June 22. Hamilton is facing up to 30 years in prison and is subject to a 25 year minimum mandatory prison sentence under Florida’s 10-20-Life law, according to the release.  The charges stem from an Oct. 16, 2019, altercation between Hamilton and two victims. The two victims, a male and a female, went to visit a friend who lived on Howling Road, west of DeFuniak Springs, but were not aware Hamilton was staying at his home. 

Naked Crestview, Florida man sentenced to 20 years garden shears attack

A jury trial was scheduled to begin Tuesday, but Botelho entered his plea minutes before the opening statements. Walton County Circuit Judge Kelvin Wells sentenced Botelho to 20 years in prison.  The charges stem from a March 31, 2018, attack on a man who was trimming bushes in the front yard of his home on East Mitchell Avenue near Choctawhatchee Bay in Santa Rosa Beach.  The victim saw Botelho walking down the street and waved to him as he walked by, according to the release. The man reportedly did not know Botelho and assumed he was walking to a nearby park.  The victim went back to trimming his bushes, but suddenly noticed Botelho standing over him. Botelho reportedly punched the victim in the nose, kneed him in the chest and then wrestled a pair of garden shears out of his hands.
