LITTLE ROCK, Ark At the end of March, Attorney General Leslie Rutledge announced the COVID-19 disconnection moratorium for its regulated utility services is ending on May 3, 2021, according to the Arkansas Public Service Commission (PSC).
Consumers with past due balances begin receiving disconnection notices to their mailing addresses from their utility companies providing at least a 35-day grace period before shut-off notices are sent.
“We are over a year into the COVID-19 pandemic and Arkansas is recovering in more ways than one,” said Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. “I want folks who are going back to work, but still struggling to pay their bills, to know they have options.”

The former head of Arkansas Republican Party says he is running for lieutenant governor.
Doyle Webb said he will enter the race for lieutenant governor in an announcement Monday morning. Webb is a former state lawmaker from Benton and served as chair of the Republican Party of Arkansas from 2008 to 2020.
Webb was most recently named head of the redistricting team of Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, who is running for governor. He also served as chief of staff for late Republican Lt. Gov. Win Rockefeller. I believe I am the most qualified candidate in the race, but I will not take Arkansan’s support for granted. I will be running a full-time campaign over the next year and a half, getting to every corner of the state I have come to know so well. As your next lieutenant governor I will fight for life, liberty, and lower taxes, Webb said, in a statement.
